對話一
David: Fred, we're gonna have a meeting after half an hour. Have you got it?
大衛(wèi)：佛瑞德,半小時后我們將有個會。你知道嗎?
Fred: Is that true? I can't believe it. There are always some meetings in this company.
佛瑞德：是真的嗎?我真不明白，公司里會議可太多了。
David: Hush! The wall has ears, you know.
大衛(wèi)：噓!小聲兒點!隔墻有耳。
Fred: But, my overwork has not done yet. And it is driving me crazy.
佛瑞德：但是，我的加班工作還沒完成呢。這個任務真讓我抓狂了。
David: My boy. I give you my sympathy to you. However, this meeting is said to be extremely important, so we have to attend it.
大衛(wèi)：伙計!我對你表示同情。但是這個會議據(jù)說十分重要，所以我們還是必須要去參加的。
Fred: What's the meeting for?
佛瑞德：開這個會是干什么的?
David: It is to give honors and promotions to some colleagues who made outstanding performance last year.
大衛(wèi)：會議主要是給去年那些表現(xiàn)突出的同事發(fā)放獎品和升職。
Fred: I will be there after 20 minutes.
佛瑞德：好的'，我20分鐘后就去。
Conversation 2
對話二
Fred: Hi! Swift, we are so excited to hear about that you are promoted. So, congratulations!
佛瑞德：嗨!斯威夫特，聽到你升職的消息，我們都很興奮啊。所以呢，恭喜你了!
Swift:Thank you!
斯威夫特：謝謝!
David: What are you in charge of now?
大衛(wèi)：你現(xiàn)在負責什么工作呢?
Swift:I am in charge of the market development of our whole department.
斯威夫特：我現(xiàn)在負責整個部門的市場開發(fā)工作。
Fred: I envy you.
佛瑞德：我真羨慕你。
Swift:You know, I will be much busier and facing more challenges.
斯威夫特：你要明白，我將會比以前更忙，比以前面臨更大的挑戰(zhàn)。
David: I think you are a lucky dog. So can you give us some ideas of being promoted?
大衛(wèi)：我想你是個幸運兒。那你能告訴我們一些升遷的訣竅嗎?
Swift:Don't worry about whether you are lucky or not. Just do your own job and work hard. Our boss will see your good performance one day.
斯威夫特：別在意你幸運與否。就是做好你的工作并不斷努力�？傆幸惶炖习鍟吹侥懔己玫臉I(yè)績的。
Fred: We can handle this and make it as our motto.
佛瑞德：我們肯定能努力工作而且會將此句話當做我們的座右銘。
Swift:Shall we have dinner together? Be my guest.
斯威夫特：我們一起去吃晚餐吧?我請客。
Fred: Amazing. Can you read our mind? We'd love to…
佛瑞德：太好了。你簡直能讀懂我們的心思。我很愿意去。
